A strange place to be reminded...

Sitting in the podiatrists office, on the big chair, after having my heel stretched a bit and prodded a bit, after being tickled by the spiky thing that checked for numbness, the podiatrist reached for the doppler, squirted some gel on my feet and checked blood flow.

That sound.

Whoosh-knock-whoosh-knock-whoosh-knock. Only one heartbeat. Mine.

Breathe. Deeply.

I need to do more exercises to ease the plantar fasciitis, I have flat feet, I need shoe inserts made, arthritis is getting a grip on both big toe joints and one second toe joint.

Only one heartbeat. Mine.

  1. Oooh- I know, honey. The first time I had an ultrasound after we lost Kai, I cried from the sound alone. 2 months ago, Alan had one He cried, too.

    Love you.

  4. Look out!! Here comes a sucker punch to your face!! Sigh. Why isn't there ever a warning?? Indeed, a weird place for that.

My heart drops too! What a great way to put that. That's exactly how I felt when I read the first part...one heartbeat. UGH!

  7. stupid spurs! I get those too. well since I had my custom orthodics made for my flat feet I really don't notice the spurs as much anymore. yay me!

It's just that I can't wear my shoes around the house, that's not comfortable. so I will often twist my ankle while getting up from the toilet and so on...

    lol

Hope you can get those orthodics quick!! oh and I have flat feet too...oh man just sitting here at my computer and I twisted my ankle!! grr...it hurts.
