Made with love part three

I haven't forgotten. I haven't given up. I've been a bit distracted these last couple of weeks by car rides and hospital visits and imminent due dates.

I am slowly making my little tags. Sawing, filing, drilling, sanding and polishing. They will just need the names adding. I won't have too many to start with but as soon as I have a bit more money I will be getting more supplies. I am also working on a couple of "one off" designs that I'm hoping someone somewhere will like!

I'm going to sell the tags without chains at the moment simply because I can't afford to buy any! But hopefully those of you who expressed an interest will still want one or two.

I'm thinking of setting up another blog just for this with a paypal checkout on it. I'm starting off quite small and still figuring out how to work this so I'm hanging on a bit before starting a "proper" online shop. Or I might just keep it very small, exclusive and super-personal!

I was thinking of starting on 5th March because it seemed fitting to begin this enterprise on the day that I was supposed to begin an entirely different enterprise. Unfortunately I think that I might have to delay that a bit. But I'm nearly there!

Let me know if you have any ideas that might be useful for me!

On a more personal note. I'm still processing the news from yesterday. It's a weird feeling to be sure. We are now in a place that we hadn't expected to be in for a few months. My mood today has certainly been a little lighter. And as for the "getting busy"? Sheesh! Mind your own business!

  1. As I've said before, I think this business idea is such a wonderful tribute to George. Not sure what it takes to create a store on 'etsy.com' but might that not be easier? I've seen people with very few items of merchandise sell their things on there.

  3. hehe I was thinking about you last night, and the whole 'getting busy' thing. Not that I was thinking about THAT, don't worry :-) but just how wonderful it was, how excited and scared you must feel. Thinking back to when we finally reached our 3mth wait mark. Not that it's happened for us yet, but having to wait to ttc is just such a stress in itself!

I can't wait for you to set up business! My order still stands!
I think it's a great idea to set up another blog. I've got them going for my photography, that I hope maybe someone, someday, will pay me to do for them! I've just (yesterday) redesigned one of them, so if you want to look at it go to http://birni-furrtography.blogspot.com. I like this one because it's like a mini website, but without the cost of hosting etc.

  7. Oh Barbara - I'm so glad the news was what you didn't expect. Sorry for being lax in reading lately - I just caught up.

My many hats have seemed to topple on my head all at once. I'm here - and ready to walk with you through your terrifing journey to bliss!

  8. I'd second (fourth?) the etsy recommendation- make things easy on yourself if you can. And please add me to the list of customers.

I can imagine- and share- the cascade of feelings you must be experiencing right now. Wow- we can try. Yikes- we can try. And everything in between, I would think. Even though you're being stingy with the getting busy details ;) , you know we're all behind you with this one, too.

  10. I would like to go on the wait list please!

My friend Sarah said Etsy is the way to go..... I like the blog idea too :)

You can always just start your little shop in blog land on the 5th :) Even if you just get the blog name done :)

You know I will be thinking of you

  13. You can start a separate blog for this. I have never used Etsy, so really I can't comment on that.

I am going to get one. And I was actually thinking of what to have inscribed on it.

When you are ready to start, just let me know. OK?
