Five good things

This past week has been a bit difficult for me. I have found myself feeling bitter, sad, loved, uplifted and scared in varying degrees.

So there really has been only one good thing this week. But it's one VERY good thing!

Did you know that watching your poppet writhe about on the living room floor trying to pull his jumper off whilst growling that I shouldn't make him angry; I wouldn't like him when he's angry (you may have to be as old as me to get that reference) will make you snort tea from your nose?

What good things found you this week?

  1. I was raised on that reference! Poor Poppet!

    My good things:

Concluding a successful neighborhood coat drive in which people donated over 25 coats to keep the homeless warm in winter.

Lunch with a friend who I hadn't seen in well over a year, and discovering that his awful wife is much less awful than she used to be.

Driving 2 hours and getting completely lost, only to find a loving and welcoming Angie waiting for me on the other end.

    Cooking dinner with Alan.

    3-day weekend this week.

  2. I'm old enough to understand it! My husband often says that same line to me (but more in reference to the fact that I should be the one saying it, if that makes any sense!)

Oh, it was a tough, tough week, so this is a good exercise for me to try it:

Warm dogs, cuddling close on cold evenings. (can it count as two good things as I have two dogs?)

Watching the video of our wedding yesterday, for the first time since the big day three years and four months ago...

A pot of warm soup, homemade chicken with tortellini, spinach and kale, and loads of fresh ground black pepper.

Good numbers on tests from the RE.

Signs of spring all around my neighborhood - flowers beginning to peek out, sunshine streaming in from the windows, temperatures that make our morning walks so much more pleasant...

Thank you for reminding me what a valuable exercise this is.
